13-year-old Uzbek girl who got lost in a mosque in Istanbul has been returned to her mother

13-year-old Uzbek girl missing in Istanbul returned to her mother.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul handed over 13-year-old Uzbek citizen S.J. to her mother.

It was reported that on August 30, at 22:30, the imam of one of the mosques in the Beyoglu district called the Consulate General and reported about the minor Uzbek citizen.

Consulate diplomats immediately arrived at the scene, brought the child to the Consulate General, and took measures to find and contact her close relatives.

On September 1, S.J. was returned to her mother safe and sound. The Consulate General expressed gratitude to the relevant Turkish authorities and citizens who provided assistance in this matter.

In July, it was reported that the body of an Uzbek citizen who drowned in a river in the Turkish city of Mugla was found. A 21-year-old Uzbek man went to swim in a river in the Seydikemer district.

After an examination at the scene, the body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
