And Geely EX5 EM-i demonstrated in practice that it can cover an even longer distance.
Geely Auto Uzbekistan successfully completed the international "3L Challenge" test held along the historical cities of the Great Silk Road. The EX5 EM-i super hybrid crossover recorded an average fuel consumption of 3.8 l/100 km in real road conditions.
During the test conducted on the roads of Uzbekistan, the Geely EX5 EM-i super hybrid crossover traveled 1,205 kilometers without refueling or recharging the battery. According to the vehicle's trip computer, the average fuel consumption was just 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers. Most notably, after 1205 km, even when the gasoline ran out, 23 percent of charge was still remaining in the battery.
This result was recorded within the framework of Geely's international "3L Challenge" project. This project is aimed at testing the fuel efficiency and long-range capabilities of the EM-i Super Hybrid technology under real road conditions in various countries.
The test began at the official Geely dealership located in the Sergeli district of Tashkent city. Prior to the journey, the vehicle's 50-liter fuel tank was filled up and its battery was charged to 100 percent.
The crossover first headed through Samarkand to Navoiy, and then on to Bukhara. In Bukhara, the team visited the official Geely dealership. The next route continued through long highway stretches passing through desert regions to the city of Urganch. Here as well, after stopping by the official Geely dealership, the car reached the main destination of the journey — the historical city of Khiva.
Upon arriving in Khiva, the EX5 EM-i had already covered a distance of 1,055 kilometers without a single refueling or battery recharge.
However, the test did not end there.
Since the vehicle still had energy reserves left, the drivers decided to test its capabilities even further. They continued driving while maintaining normal driving conditions.
