Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Mirziyod Yunusov, the Chairman of the Uzeltekhsanoat Association, engaged in discussions with Mikhail Skurat, the head of the administration of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Vitebsk. The meeting, part of the III Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, centered on the potential for enhancing collaboration in the electrical engineering sector.
The dialogue emphasized the effective use of the resources available in free economic zones, the execution of joint investment initiatives, and the advancement of industrial partnerships between the two nations' enterprises.
Details were shared regarding the capabilities of FEZ Vitebsk, which was founded in 1999. Currently, the zone encompasses 17 sectors covering a total area of 2,425 hectares, with its residents attracting nearly US$1.4 billion in investments.
It was highlighted that there are 53 investment projects underway within the FEZ, involving capital from 11 different countries. The businesses operating in the zone provide employment for over 16,000 individuals. Investors benefit from tax and customs incentives, while a robust engineering infrastructure and a well-established transport and logistics network facilitate access to European and Eurasian Economic Union markets.
At the conclusion of the talks, both parties reiterated their dedication to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership, enhancing practical cooperation, and pursuing new joint projects.
