Uzbek Companies Boost Purchases on Belarusian Commodity Exchange by 21%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The volume of purchases made by Uzbek companies on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) has seen a significant rise. For the period of January to June 2026, transactions involving Uzbek residents surpassed US$66 million, marking a 21 percent increase compared to the same timeframe last year.

As reported by the BUCE press service, by the end of the first half of the year, 282 companies from Uzbekistan had been accredited on the exchange, which is an increase of 30 companies since the start of the year.

The potential for further collaboration was a key topic during discussions between BUCE Chairman Aleksandr Osmolovsky, Nazmijiddinhodja Sharipov, Director of the Center for Raising the Efficiency of Projects and Procurement of Uzbekistan, and Sarvar Akhadov, General Director of Technopark LLC.

Post-meeting, the parties reached an agreement to create mechanisms that would facilitate easier access for participants to the electronic trading platforms of both nations, promote the exchange of pricing information, and share expertise in implementing digital technologies in state and corporate procurement.

Aleksandr Osmolovsky emphasized that both Belarus and Uzbekistan share similar views on advancing exchange trading and developing modern systems for state and corporate procurement, expressing a willingness to enhance cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was founded in 2004, with its inaugural trading session occurring in June 2005.

The Center for Raising the Efficiency of Projects and Procurement of Uzbekistan was established following a presidential decree in 2018. This institution focuses on evaluating investment projects, as well as preparing pre-project, project, and tender documentation, along with technical specifications as part of state development programs and the state procurement system.
