Uzbekistan welcomed over 6.5 million foreign tourists in the first half of 2026, marking a 24.9% increase compared to the same period last year.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — According to the National Committee on Statistics, Uzbekistan received 6,565,410 foreign tourists from January to June 2026.

This marks an increase of 1.3 million visitors, or 24.9%, compared to the same timeframe last year.

As is customary, the majority of tourists came from neighboring nations. Kyrgyzstan topped the list with 1,875,332 visitors to Uzbekistan, followed by Kazakhstan with 1,553,688 tourists, and Tajikistan, whose citizens made 1,471,670 trips.

Russia and Afghanistan completed the top five sources of tourists, contributing 585,558 and 238,925 visitors, respectively.

Other notable countries in the top 10 included China with 223,479 visitors, Turkmenistan with 164,211, Türkiye with 95,466, India with 26,450, and Germany with 22,294 tourists.

The rise in foreign visitors reflects the ongoing recovery and growth of Uzbekistan's tourism sector, highlighting the country's increasing appeal to travelers from both the region and beyond.
