Uzbekistan, Belarus extend registration-free stay to 10 days

Uzbekistan and Belarus have formalized an agreement to extend the duration of registration-free stays for their citizens from three days to ten days. This decision is part of a wider set of agreements established during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official visit to Belarus.

Amir Sultanov, the Head of Department at Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared this information during an interview with Uzbekistan 24 television. He noted that the protocol regarding mutual visits was among several agreements made during the Uzbek delegation's trip, which was led by President Mirziyoyev.

With this new protocol, citizens from Uzbekistan and Belarus can now remain in each other's countries for up to ten days without the need to register with local authorities, an increase from the previous requirement of registration after three days. Sultanov emphasized that this extension aims to make travel easier for citizens of both nations.

Currently, Uzbek citizens can enter Belarus without a visa. The protocol was finalized after discussions between President Mirziyoyev and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on July 9. Following their talks, the two leaders signed a Declaration on Strategic Partnership, and representatives from both governments exchanged several bilateral agreements focused on cooperation among ministries, government agencies, and other institutions.
