Uzbekistan Promotes Investment Opportunities at Turkish Economic Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – The Embassy of Uzbekistan participated in the "Western Black Sea" International Economic Summit, an event co-hosted by the ULUSKON association and the Kastamonu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KATSO) in Turkey, as reported by Dunyo Information Agency.
The Uzbek delegation utilized the summit to showcase the nation's trade, economic, and investment prospects. They provided an in-depth overview of current economic reforms, the favorable conditions established for foreign investors, and potential avenues for collaborative projects across key economic sectors.
During discussions with the leadership of the Kastamonu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, both sides explored avenues for increasing industrial collaboration in the production of furniture, doors, and wood products. Topics included establishing joint manufacturing of semi-finished goods and strengthening direct relationships between Uzbek and Turkish businesses. These talks led to the establishment of connections with Turkish firms Gülcan Mobilya, Dortek, and Zintaş.
As part of their visit, embassy representatives also toured the Miskos manufacturing facility. The Turkish company conveyed its interest in entering the Uzbek market, distributing its products through major retail chains in the country, and forging direct partnerships with local entities. Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the organization of B2B meetings for Uzbek trading companies during the F-Istanbul international food exhibition.
A meeting with Kastamonu Governor Hasan Baltacı focused on enhancing interregional cooperation. The parties examined potential collaborations in industrial sectors, particularly in the production of furniture, doors, and wood products, as well as in education, mining, healthcare, and sports tourism.
The negotiations concluded with an agreement to facilitate reciprocal visits by business delegations, expand direct engagement between entrepreneurs, foster student exchange programs, and investigate the possibility of establishing a partnership between Kastamonu Province and an economically compatible region in Uzbekistan.
