Uzbek Delegation Explores Mersin Logistics and Trade Potential
An Uzbek delegation visited Turkey's Mersin province to participate in a business forum and explore logistics facilities, including the MESBAŞ free zone.
Uzbekistan's representatives recently visited Mersin Province to investigate its logistics and trade capabilities, according to the Dunyo Information Agency. The delegation from the Uzbek Embassy in Turkey engaged in multiple meetings, attended a business forum, and toured various manufacturing and logistics sites.
The business forum, co-hosted by Mustafa Özdamar, Deputy Chairman of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, drew over 40 entrepreneurs from both Uzbekistan and Turkey. These participants represented diverse sectors such as agriculture, logistics, and greenhouse farming. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation, bolstering export infrastructure, and facilitating the entry of Uzbek products into international markets. A key focus was Mersin's strategic role as a logistics gateway for Uzbek goods destined for Turkey, Europe, and the Middle East.
The Uzbek delegation also explored the Mersin Free Zone (MESBAŞ), an area home to more than 330 companies with a collective trade volume of around $3.5 billion. Dena, an Uzbek juice producer, showed interest in utilizing the free zone's warehousing facilities to expand its export activities.
The visit concluded with an agreement between the parties to maintain ongoing collaboration in trade, investment, logistics, and the international promotion of Uzbek brands.
