A presidential decree has slated thirty-five markets and trade complexes in Tashkent, along with their associated branch outlets, for public auction. The "Additional Measures for Socio-Economic Development of Tashkent City in 2026–2027" decree, signed by the President, initiates this sale.
Tashkent Invest Company will serve as the authorized organizer for these sales. Their responsibilities include developing a comprehensive business plan for each property prior to its auction. For their services, Tashkent Invest Company will receive 1 percent of the sale proceeds from the markets, in addition to being reimbursed for all auction-related expenses.
Purchasers of these markets and trade complexes will be mandated to redevelop them into contemporary eco-markets, trade and service centers, entertainment venues, and multi-story parking facilities.
The decree also stipulates that branches of other farmers' (food) markets in Tashkent, as well as specialized and general-goods markets (trade complexes), including their vacant plots, will be sold via electronic online auctions. These sales will be conducted at an appraised value, adhering to master plans and specific terms to be established separately.
Previously, the same presidential decree introduced a mandate for major shopping centers in Tashkent to include bookstores.
The full list of markets and trade complexes, along with their branches, designated for public auction is provided below.
