The first organized group of 255 labor migrants from Uzbekistan's Andijan Region has arrived in Belarus to work in agriculture and animal husbandry.
First Group of Andijan Migrant Workers Arrives in Belarus
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The initial organized group of labor migrants from the Andijan Region has landed in Belarus for temporary jobs in agriculture and animal husbandry. This group comprises 255 individuals from the region.
This initiative is being carried out under a trilateral agreement involving the Hokimiyat of the Andijan Region, the Agency for External Labor Migration of Uzbekistan, and the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee of Belarus.
As reported by the Migration Agency, a streamlined employment process has been put in place for those participating in the project, allowing for quicker processing of essential documents and organized departures for work.
Upon arrival at Vitebsk airport, the Uzbek citizens were welcomed by local authority representatives and an official delegation from Uzbekistan, which was led by Shuxratbek Abdurakhmanov, the Hokim of the Andijan Region.
The agency stated that all program participants are assured of official employment, fair wages, and adequate living conditions.
The project's implementation is anticipated to enhance employment prospects for Uzbek citizens abroad and foster cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus in the realm of organized labor migration.
The legal framework for such initiatives was established during the state visit of Uzbekistan's President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Belarus, where an agreement was signed for the organized recruitment of Uzbek citizens for temporary work in Belarus.
During that visit, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko highlighted the country's labor shortages and extended an invitation to citizens of Uzbekistan to come and work, including their family members.
