Uzbekistan Civil Courts to Appoint Specialized Labor Judges
Uzbekistan will introduce specialized labor dispute judges in its civil courts starting 1 August 2026 to improve the quality and speed of hearings.
Uzbekistan Civil Courts to Introduce Specialized Labor Judges
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Beginning on August 1, 2026, civil courts throughout Uzbekistan will implement judges specifically trained to handle labor disputes. This initiative was approved by the Presidium of the Supreme Court.
The introduction of this specialization will occur within the current staffing framework of the courts and aims to enhance both the efficiency and quality of labor conflict resolutions.
In the Judicial Panel for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, four judges will be designated to manage labor disputes. Similarly, in the judicial panels for civil cases in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as in regional courts and the Tashkent City Court, three specialized judges will be appointed to each panel.
This new specialization will also be established in inter-district and city civil courts.
Each of the inter-district courts in Nukus, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Karshi, Karmana, Namangan, Termez, Ferghana, and Urgench will have two judges focused on labor disputes, along with the Samarkand City Court.
In the Tashkent Region, the Ohangaron inter-district court will have two specialized judges, while the Ortachirchiq and Yangiyol inter-district courts will each have one.
In the capital city, two judges specializing in labor disputes will be assigned to each of the Mirzo-Ulugbek, Mirabad, Shaykhontohur, Uchtepa, and Yakkasaray inter-district civil courts.
The Kattakurgan inter-district court will have one specialized position allocated.
As per the resolution, all labor dispute applications submitted to the courts from August 1 onward will be automatically assigned to the specialized judges.
In contrast, cases received by July 31 and those already in progress will continue to be handled under the previous system without any changes to the court's composition.
