The event was organized with the participation of compatriots living in South Korea, activists of the representative office of the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea ("WAYU Korea"), young Korean friends of Uzbekistan, and Korean students.
About 100 people participated in the campaign. They unfurled the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan measuring 6×12 meters.
The participants raised the state flags of Uzbekistan and South Korea together, demonstrating a symbolic expression of strong friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation between the two peoples.
The main goal of the campaign was to draw the attention of the Korean public and foreign guests in Seoul to Uzbekistan, to reflect the atmosphere of sincere relations and friendship between the two peoples, as well as to show the role of youth in the further development of relations between the countries.
Gwanghwamun Square, where the event took place, is located in the center of Seoul and is considered one of the most visited places by capital residents and foreign tourists. Koreans and tourists passing through the square watched the campaign with interest and took pictures of the huge flag of Uzbekistan. Some of them said that it was the first time they had seen an event with such a large-scale flag of a foreign country in Gwanghwamun Square.
As a reminder, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is expected to be in Seoul on September 14-16.
