Yandex ML School Uzbekistan announces a competition for admission to the machine learning specialist training program

Yandex ML School Uzbekistan has announced a competition for admission to the Machine Learning Specialist Training Program.

A total of 35 participants will be accepted into the program. Applications can be submitted until September 9, 2026, including on September 9.

During the program, students will master the mathematical foundations of machine learning - linear algebra, probability theory, statistics, and mathematical analysis. They will also learn to create and use ML models. Later, they will have the opportunity to work with modern artificial intelligence services such as Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Large Language Models (LLM) based on ChatGPT.

The updated program also includes Reinforcement Learning (RL) - a training direction through reinforcement. In this method, the algorithm learns to choose the most optimal actions based on the results and feedback, for example, when controlling robots. All classes are conducted in English.

As part of the program, students complete homework assignments in addition to theoretical knowledge, receive regular feedback and recommendations from teachers. They also participate in practical workshops - industrial weekends - conducted by specialists from technology companies. The main program teachers include Yandex experts, teachers from universities in Uzbekistan, and specialists in the field of machine learning.

To be accepted to Yandex ML School Uzbekistan, a participant must have knowledge of linear algebra, algorithms, mathematics, and programming at the level of the first or second cycle of a technical higher education institution. Entrance exams consist of an online exam, an offline exam, and a face-to-face interview.

The admission process for the first stream of the program last year showed a high interest in studying artificial intelligence among young people in Uzbekistan: about 3,000 applications were received, and the competition was about 100 people per place.

The first stream students graduated in May of this year. Several graduates have received job offers from companies such as Avo Bank, Ucell, and EPAM by the time they complete the program. One graduate has joined the Yandex Cloud initiative, working on a project to use artificial intelligence technologies to prevent forest fires.
