President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced new measures for reforms in the education sector and support for teachers and mentors
Starting from January 1, 2026, the fees of working mothers who send their 2–3-year-old children to family kindergartens will be covered by budget funds.
According to the President, women's employment brings additional income to the family and creates broader opportunities for children's education.
Kindergarten educators have been given the opportunity to obtain higher education while working. This year, 7,000 of them enrolled in higher education organizations.
They work five days a week and study for one day. Starting from the next academic year, the duration of study for educators in pedagogical higher education organizations will be reduced from four to three years.
Kindergarten assistant educators who have worked for at least five years will also be able to benefit from this opportunity. The President emphasized that kindergarten should be a place where a child's abilities are revealed and their thinking is developed.
Based on the experience of Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Singapore, and China, a program compatible with national values was developed. Currently, 180,000 educators and teachers are being trained under the new methodology.
The play-based learning program has now been introduced in 30 percent of kindergartens. By the end of the year, it is planned to implement it in all of the more than 38,000 kindergartens.
The Regional Center for Early Childhood Education under the auspices of UNESCO and the Italian Reggio Emilia Center have started operating in Tashkent. It has been decided to send 50 advanced educators abroad for internships every year, prepare 100 video contents for kindergartens, and equip state kindergartens with electronic boards, computers, and color printers based on a three-year program.
