The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan has launched an initiative to expand the list of in-demand professions that grant foreign citizens the right to obtain a permanent residency permit in the republic. The corresponding draft amendments have been published for public discussion.
Currently, the list of such specialties includes 51 positions. The prepared document provides for increasing this number to 174.
The initiative is driven by the needs of the national economy and the necessity of developing priority sectors. The ministry emphasizes that the implementation of the amendments will facilitate a targeted influx of qualified personnel from abroad.
The document was prepared as part of improving the country's migration policy, which is focused on creating conditions to attract foreign specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs. Comments and suggestions on the draft are being accepted until October 6, 2026.
