In Tashkent, a woman was detained on suspicion of carrying hashish hidden inside a doll

In the Bektemir district of Tashkent city, a woman carrying a toy with hashish narcotics hidden inside was apprehended, the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the information, officers of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs' Cybercrime Division and the Nurafshon City Department of Internal Affairs conducted an operational search event based on information from the internet network.

During the process, a Nexia 3 vehicle moving through the territory of the Bektemir district was stopped and inspected. During the inspection, a children's doll among the belongings of a passenger in the car — a 56-year-old woman named G. A. — caught the officers' attention, and its weight aroused suspicion.

When the inside of the toy was examined, it was revealed that 8 separately packaged pieces of dark brown hashish substance weighing 100−150 grams each, with a pungent odor, were hidden inside it.

According to preliminary inquiries, the woman had purchased these narcotics from the Fergana region and was bringing them to Tashkent city for the purpose of sale. It was established that the Nexia 3 driver was engaged in taxi services through the Yandex service and was seeing the female passenger for the first time.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the situation, and inquiries are ongoing to determine the source of origin of the narcotics.

The Department of Internal Affairs reminded that under Uzbekistan legislation, punishment of up to 20 years of imprisonment is stipulated for the illegal trafficking of narcotics.
