Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will not launch airstrikes on Russian territory during the visit of US President Donald Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Moscow. Meanwhile, some Ukrainian media outlets are reporting that the Armed Forces have been instructed to observe a "peace regime" on the front line from September 5 to September 8. This information has not yet been officially confirmed.

In his evening video address on Friday, September 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there would be a pause in air strikes on Russia during the US representatives' visit to Moscow.
According to Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Moscow on September 5. They are expected to visit Kyiv the following day.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized that, as with previous US diplomatic visits, conditions would be created to ensure the safe movement of the negotiators.
"As was the case during previous American diplomatic visits, we will ensure the normal functioning of Russian airspace so that the negotiators can arrive safely," Zelenskyy said.
He stated that Ukraine would not conduct air strikes during this period. Zelenskyy indicated that this decision was made not in the interests of Russia, but to ensure the safety of the US representatives.
The publication "Ukrainska Pravda," citing interlocutors in military brigades across several directions and a high-ranking source in the security forces, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been instructed to observe a "peace regime" from 00:00 on September 5 to 23:59 on September 8.
However, this information has not yet been confirmed by Ukrainian officials.
The "RBC-Ukraine" agency also wrote that Kyiv had sent a proposal to Moscow for a mutual halt to air strikes during the period of the diplomatic meetings. According to the source, Ukraine is currently waiting for the Russian side's response.
Meanwhile, sources of The New York Times reported that Washington had asked both Kyiv and Moscow for a pause in hostilities during the visit of Trump's representatives.
At the same time, a distinction must be made between reports of a complete ceasefire along the front lines from September 5 to 8 and Zelenskyy's officially declared intention not to conduct air strikes on Russia. The former is based on media sources and has not been officially confirmed, while the latter was openly announced by the President of Ukraine.
