Comprehensive services will be provided to neighborhoods within the framework of the "Yashil" mahallam" (My Green Neighborhood) program

Large-scale work is being carried out in the country to expand green areas, and to establish groves and parks. However, there are certain shortcomings in preserving the planted seedlings, and in systematically organizing their watering and care.

A portion of the seedlings planted last spring has dried up. This is due to the selection of trees that do not match the climate and soil of the region, planting seedlings in areas without water supply, and insufficient measures against diseases and pests. It was also noted that there are problems in the maintenance and protection of forests established on the dried bed of the Aral Sea.

The head of state emphasized the need to evaluate the effectiveness of the work based on the condition of the planted seedlings after one, three, and five years.

In this regard, approaches covering the organization of greening work on a scientific basis, starting from land preparation to the creation of an irrigation system and caring for seedlings for at least three years, were presented. It is planned to determine planting dates based on the weather conditions of each region and the conclusions of scientists, giving priority to species that are adapted to the local climate and resistant to heat, cold, and water scarcity.

The Ecology Committee was instructed to develop and announce to the public "green maps" reflecting the type of seedling, planting location, and irrigation system for each neighborhood. Together with neighborhood chairpersons, the task of regularly monitoring the condition of trees and seedlings on every street, identifying the causes of drying up, and eliminating them was assigned.

The importance of organizing tree planting work, first of all, in crowded places, pedestrian walkways, and streets operating day and night, was emphasized. It was noted that by increasing shade trees in such areas, it is necessary to create comfortable conditions for people to walk and rest.

During the presentation, proposals for providing comprehensive services to neighborhoods within the framework of the "Yashil" mahallam" program were reviewed. It is intended to establish services for the delivery of quality seedlings, organic fertilizers, and water-saving irrigation equipment based on neighborhood orders, as well as protecting trees from diseases and pests.

It is planned to assign a forester-mentor to each neighborhood to teach residents how to plant, water, and care for seedlings, and to establish small groves and public parks between houses, schools, and kindergartens. The task of widely involving the efforts of neighborhood activists and volunteers consisting of youth in these works was defined.
