Will the visit of Trump's envoys to the Kremlin bring peace closer?

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were supposed to bring Donald Trump's new proposal to end the war to Moscow. Many aspects of their visit to the Kremlin also showed that Washington's intention to revive the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine is serious. However, the results of the American delegation's meeting with Vladimir Putin are not very comforting: the Russian leadership still demands that its advantage on the battlefield be taken into account and wants the "root causes of the conflict" to be eliminated.
