Putin ordered not to fire on Kyiv for three days in connection with the visit of the US delegation

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave instructions not to strike Kyiv for three days starting from 00:00 on September 5. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Reportedly, this decision was made due to the visit of the US delegation. On September 6, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are scheduled to arrive in the Ukrainian capital. Today, September 5, they are in Moscow. Peskov said they will hold a meeting with Putin in the capital.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement a day earlier. According to him, Ukraine will stop striking Russian territory during the visit of the US delegation. Zelensky said he expected a similar decision from the Kremlin. Moscow did not officially respond to this proposal.

At the same time, on the night of September 5, the Russian army continued shelling Ukrainian territories. In particular, five people were killed as a result of a strike on a metallurgical enterprise in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Putin emphasized midweek that Moscow is open to dialogue with any party that wishes to communicate. The Russian President explained that representatives of the White House are always welcome guests and the Kremlin would be happy to work with them.
