Will the category of a teacher who failed the attestation be downgraded?
If a teacher who has the right to retain their qualification category for life participates in an extraordinary attestation in order to obtain a higher category or a 70% allowance and fails to score sufficient points, their current category will still not be lowered. The salary for that category will also be retained.

Will the category of a teacher who fails the attestation be lowered?
This procedure is established in the regulation approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 572 dated September 17, 2021.
According to paragraph 7 of the regulation, educators who have the right to retain their qualification category for life are not involved in the next mandatory attestation.
At the same time, they may voluntarily participate in an extraordinary attestation in order to obtain a higher qualification category or an allowance.
According to paragraph 44 of the regulation, the qualification category of an educator who fails to score sufficient points in an extraordinary attestation is not lowered. Their current category and salary for that category are retained.
In other words, failing to achieve the expected result in a voluntary test does not deprive the teacher of their previous qualification category.
