Where to complain about potholes on the roads in Uzbekistan?
Cracked asphalt in a yard, potholes on streets, or damaged sections of roads inside a neighborhood can remain unrepaired for months. Who is responsible for such roads, where should damaged areas be reported, and how long does it take to review a complaint?

Where can you complain about potholes on the roads in Uzbekistan?
Damaged roads can be reported via the Xalq Nazorati platform. I tested this from my own experience: I submitted an application regarding road repairs in the Yunusabad district and received a response from the hokimiyat. I will tell you about how to submit an appeal, how long to wait for a response, and why the consideration of a complaint does not always mean the road will be repaired soon.
If potholes appear on the road, cracks form, or the asphalt pavement is damaged, an appeal can be submitted through the Xalq Nazorati platform. The "Mening yo'lim" section is designed for reporting damaged roads, and residents of the regions can also use it.
If potholes appear on the road near an apartment building, it is not always easy to determine who is responsible for its repair. In this case, you can contact the district hokimiyat, indicate the location of the road, and ask to identify the responsible organization.
The organization responsible for repairing roads depends on the category of the road and which agency has jurisdiction over it.
In accordance with Article 10 of Law No. ZRU-1162 "On Roads", there are three types of roads in Uzbekistan:
● Public roads - roads of international, state, and local importance. They are under the jurisdiction of the Committee for Roads.
● Internal roads - streets of cities, towns, and other settlements. Local executive authorities are responsible for their maintenance.
● On-farm roads - roads intended for servicing enterprises, organizations, and other facilities. They may be owned by the state, legal entities, or individuals.
For example, if potholes appear on a street inside a mahalla, you can contact the district hokimiyat. If a public road is damaged, you should contact the Committee for Roads.
In this case, it is not necessary to collect signatures from neighbors for an individual appeal. A complaint can be submitted by one person as well. If the problem affects several residents, they can also submit a collective appeal.
