What will the weather be like in Uzbekistan on October 26 – November 1? Gazeta review

The beginning of the week in Uzbekistan will be sunny, while early mornings and nights will be relatively cold (+3…+8, down to −3 degrees in the north and in the mountains). Frost may occur in some areas. During the week, daytime temperatures will be around +20…+22 degrees, gradually warming up over the weekend.

What will the weather be like in Uzbekistan from October 26 to November 1? Gazeta review

Climatologist Erkin Abdulahatov shared the next weekly weather review with Gazeta. According to him, the factor causing a significant temperature drop in Uzbekistan at the beginning of the current week is the southern edge of the Siberian anticyclone, which will bring sunny conditions during the day and freezing cold and dry weather at night in the regions until Thursday.

Starting Thursday, the retreat of the anticyclone and the inflow of warmer air from the south may bring light precipitation to mountainous areas and some adjacent places. During weekdays, daytime temperature maximums are expected to rise to a maximum of +20…+22 degrees.

According to foreign weather bureaus, between October 26 and 30, the average temperature across a vast part of Uzbekistan was recorded around the long-term climatic norm and 1−2 degrees below it due to the influence of the cool airflow at the beginning of the week.

According to Uzhydromet's daily forecasts, the weekdays of the current week are also expected to pass dry, with precipitation recorded only in the mountains on October 28−29. Precipitation is also indicated in some foothills over the weekend.

The forecast map for October 26 — November 1 clearly indicates the areas where precipitation is expected in blue, green, and yellow colors.

On weekdays, the air temperature is expected to drop to −2…−3 degrees below zero in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm region, the Kyzylkum desert of Navoi, and in the mountains. In other regions of the republic, warm temperatures of +3…+8 degrees are expected at the beginning of the week, and +5…+10 degrees in the southern regions, while from the middle of the week, night and morning temperatures will rise slightly compared to the beginning of the week due to the retreat of the anticyclone.

By the end of the week, night temperature indicators will increase significantly in places. Daytime temperatures also have the characteristic of remaining quite low, similar to night temperatures. At the beginning of the week, if temperature maximums in most of the republic rise to a maximum of +20 degrees, on October 29, 30, and 31 they will range up to +22 degrees. Daytime temperatures in the mountains are expected to be between +12…+17 degrees.

According to another report from Uzhydromet and forecasts from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), the average weekly temperature across most of the republic will be close to the long-term norm, 1−2 degrees below it in northern regions, and warmer in the mountains. Regarding precipitation, it is noted that the last days of October may be significantly drier than normal values.

Thus, at the beginning of the current week, light frosts and hoarfrost phenomena may be observed in many regions. In large cities, weakened wind will intensify air pollution for this season.

In autumn, under the influence of the anticyclone, the weakening of the wind, atmospheric stabilization, and the widening daytime-nighttime temperature difference can become important factors for public health. Especially at the beginning of the week, during periods of limited air exchange in Tashkent and the valley regions, the risk of PM2.5 fine particles accumulating in the surface layer increases.

Even the very dry air at the beginning of the week may pose a problem for certain categories of people. International epidemiological studies show that an increase in the diurnal temperature amplitude can raise the risk of adverse outcomes associated with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

Children, the elderly, and people with asthma and cardiovascular diseases should exercise greater caution.

Bioclimatic discomfort intensifies in light clothing on cold mornings. At the beginning of the week, Uzbekistan being under the influence of the southern edge of the anticyclone creates conditions for a decrease in air humidity and for night and morning air temperatures to drop below +5 °C. Such weather can cause significant coldness and bioclimatic discomfort, especially for people leaving home in light clothing in the morning.

Such bioclimatic conditions are expected to persist during the morning hours on weekdays. The possibility of warming during the day is no reason to ignore the morning cold. It is advisable to adapt clothing to weather conditions, especially when there is a large difference between daytime and morning temperatures.

For lovers of autumn walks and travel, this week is ideal — trees in major cities will gradually turn golden, offering aesthetic pleasure alongside sunny scenery.

Existing solar activity forecasts indicate that magnetic storm disturbances at yellow and green risk levels will occur on weekdays this week.

Yellow-level magnetic storm disturbances are predicted at the beginning and end of the workweek. Science still lacks definitive conclusions regarding the impact of magnetic storms on human health. Therefore, it is incorrect to state that such space influences definitely affect human health.

The Uzhydromet Agency does not expect very strong winds during the week. On October 26−28, under the influence of the anticyclone edge, the weakening of the wind and atmospheric stabilization may create conditions for a temporary deterioration in air quality in some areas, especially in Tashkent and the valley. For now, strong meteorological factors for a sharp increase in dust particles in the air are not visible.

If air pollution increases or pollution related to fine particles occurs, it is useful to familiarize oneself with the recommendations prepared by the Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee for different age groups of the population and patients on how to act.

In conclusion, stable weather — cold at first and then gradually warming — will be observed in Uzbekistan between October 26 and November 1. In heavily populated areas, the intensification of atmospheric inversion phenomena may cause an increase in fine dust particles in the air.
