Vacations in Thailand for citizens of Uzbekistan will now require a visa: the visa-free regime has been abolished.
The long-standing practice of spontaneous trips to Thai beaches is ending. The Thai government has officially approved a change to entry regulations, abolishing the previously existing visa-free regime, which allowed stays of up to 60 days.
The decree, signed on August 26, 2026, comes into effect on September 15. The new regulations will affect virtually all categories of travelers:
* **Tourists** planning a short-term vacation.
* **Entrepreneurs** traveling to Southeast Asian countries on business visits.
* **Specialists** entering the country for work or on short-term contracts.
**How to enter Thailand now?**
Entry with just a passport is no longer possible – permission must be obtained in advance.
* **Format:** Document submission is now fully digital through the official portal thaievisa.go.th.
* **Cost:** The consular fee for issuing an entry document is $40.
* **Deadlines:** Documents should be submitted well in advance of your departure date, not counting on receiving a stamp at the arrival airport.
Those who have already purchased tickets for dates after September 15 are strongly advised not to delay applying for an e-visa, so that their long-awaited vacation isn't interrupted before it even begins, even at the airport check-in area.
