Traveling to Malaysia could become easier for Uzbeks
The sides of Uzbekistan and Malaysia discussed the prospects for further simplifying the visa-free regime for Uzbeks for up to 30 days, as well as facilitating the process of obtaining long-term visas.
The process of traveling to Malaysia for citizens of Uzbekistan may become more convenient. According to the Dunyo news agency, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia held a meeting with the Deputy Director-General of the Malaysian Migration Department, Aminudin bin Yahaya.
The meeting discussed the issues of simplifying the procedure for visa-free stay in Malaysia for citizens of Uzbekistan for up to 30 days and facilitating the process of obtaining long-term visas.
The Uzbek side presented the work being carried out to increase the number of countries to which citizens of the country can enter without a visa and liberalize visa procedures. Information was also provided on the organization of safe external labor migration, measures to support Uzbeks working and studying abroad.
It is noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of more than 93 countries of the world. In addition, an electronic visa system has been established for citizens of more than 70 countries.
The parties noted that as a result of mutual visits of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Malaysia, relations in the trade and economic, tourism, educational and cultural and humanitarian spheres are becoming more active.
Aminudin bin Yahaya noted that in recent years the flow of tourists between the two countries has been increasing. According to the Malaysian Migration Department, the number of Uzbek citizens who have received permits to stay legally in the country is also increasing.
It was reported that Uzbeks go to Malaysia mainly to receive education and work as qualified specialists.
