Uztelecom network modernization: 90 percent of the journey is behind us. What work still lies ahead?
In 2026 alone, Uztelecom launched more than 280 new base stations across the country. Continuing large-scale modernization efforts, the company is updating equipment, expanding coverage, and increasing network stability. Nearly 90 percent of the plan for 2025–2026 has already been completed.

Uztelecom has covered 90 percent of the way in modernizing its network. What lies ahead?
Subscribers are already feeling the results — mobile internet has become faster. However, this is merely one stage of a large-scale network upgrade.
What does the 90 percent figure mean?
The plan envisions the installation and upgrading of base stations, optical terminals for home internet, transport equipment, and servers for data centers.
"Currently, large-scale work is continuing across the republic; new base stations are being installed or existing ones are being modernized in almost every district," confirms Farhod Muhamadiev.
This year, 1,931 sites were modernized, and more than 280 new base stations were launched across the country. The broadband access (BBA) network was expanded by more than 763 thousand subscriber ports. Since the beginning of 2026, 4G traffic has grown by 32 percent, while 5G traffic has doubled.
The company's billing system was modernized and expanded by 67 percent, gaining the capacity to process data for up to 20 million subscribers. The throughput capacity of the International Packet Switched Center was brought up to 5,000 Gbps.
Data storage and processing centers were established in the Bukhara and Fergana regions, while the construction of a data center in the Tashkent region is near completion. The total infrastructure capacity of these facilities, which will be certified to Tier III standards by the international Uptime Institute, equals 100 PB.
This plan is part of two even larger programs. The first (2022–2026) is aimed at upgrading the transport network, the international data exchange node, and data centers. The second covers almost the entire infrastructure — the transport communication network, mobile communications, broadband internet network, and interregional data transmission channels. This project is scheduled for 2025–2030.
"All of this is part of the 'Uzbekistan - 2030' national strategy, under which access to a broadband internet network must be ensured for all settlements in our country," emphasized Alisher Asilov, Deputy Director of the Development Department.
