Uztelecom and Apifonica will establish a voice artificial intelligence center in Uzbekistan

Apifonica’s artificial intelligence agent platform will be implemented within Uztelecom’s infrastructure, and the voice services based on it will subsequently be made available to the entire market. The project was announced on September 23 during the ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026 at the operator's forum "Artificial Intelligence - Infrastructure for the Business of the Future."

Artificial intelligence is no longer just a subject of experimentation: according to McKinsey, 88 percent of companies worldwide are already using it, while the cloud technology market reached 143 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2026. This figure is higher than that of the entire year of 2020. Uztelecom has a foundation for this: within the framework of ICT Week, the company launched two data centers, and by the end of the year, their number will reach five, all of which will be at the Tier III level, while corporate clients' data will remain within the country. The new project will be formed precisely on this foundation.

The center is part of Uztelecom's digital transformation. The introduction of artificial intelligence technologies will help the company bring the quality of customer service to the level of the best global practices. Artificial intelligence will be used in subscriber service: AI will take over the first line of support in the country's largest contact center. The tested solution will later be offered to businesses as well, who will be able to purchase voice assistants as a service.

The memorandum signing ceremony was attended on behalf of Apifonica by the company's CEO and founder Denis Shirokiy, who visited Tashkent, and the head of the artificial intelligence direction Kristaps Nelsons, who gave a presentation at the forum on the topic "How artificial intelligence is changing customer experience in the contact center."

"Every second conversation with a customer is already being conducted by artificial intelligence. Up to 65 percent of all incoming support requests are closed by an AI agent. It does not just answer, but fully resolves the request: opens the customer's card, views the balance, and makes changes. The issue is resolved immediately, in a matter of minutes,"

Nelsons said.

The Apifonica platform supports more than 150 languages, which are automatically detected during the conversation, while in corporate projects, usually about ten languages are implemented. This is not about replacing operators: according to McKinsey, the productivity of less experienced employees with an AI assistant increases by 34 percent, and issues are resolved two to three times faster. The machine takes over routine tasks, while complex requests remain with humans.
