Uzbekistan's Independence Day is now officially celebrated in three new US cities.

In connection with the upcoming 35th anniversary of the republic's independence, September 1 has been proclaimed as Uzbekistan's Independence Day in three more US cities.

According to Komil Allamjonov, a representative of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan in the US, the Governor of Oregon, as well as the mayors of Washington, D.C., and Seatac, officially approved this date as a holiday.

Earlier, Seattle Mayor Kathy B. Wilson made a similar decision. The first Consul General of Uzbekistan in Seattle, Akhror Bakhromov, noted that this is not just a symbolic gesture but also an indicator of strengthening ties between the two countries.
