Uzbekistan's housing market maintains high activity

After a surge in sales at the beginning of the year, housing sales have stabilized. The highest growth rates since the beginning of the year were recorded in Tashkent, Syrdarya, and Andijan regions.

Uzbekistan's housing market continues to show high activity

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms has published an updated overview of Uzbekistan's real estate market.

In August of this year, about 25.1 thousand residential property sales transactions were registered across the republic, which almost matches the figure from August last year (+0.2%).

Since the beginning of the year (January–August), housing sales in Uzbekistan grew by 18.4% compared to last year, reaching 222.5 thousand transactions.

After a notable increase in the number of transactions in March to 43.5 thousand, activity declined in April–May, then recovered in June–July to 25–26 thousand transactions per month. In August, the market maintained this same level.

Regional breakdown

In August, activity increased in 6 out of 14 regions compared to last year. In Tashkent, 7.4 thousand residential sales contracts were registered, which is 2.2% higher than the level of the same period last year.

At the same time, since the beginning of the year (January–August), the volume of sales in the capital grew by 27.5%.

High growth rates since the beginning of the year were also recorded in the Syrdarya (25.4%) and Andijan (23.8%) regions.
