Uzbekistanis returning from abroad will be granted subsidies
The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan has announced a grant competition of up to 60 million soums for labor migrants who have returned from abroad.

The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan announced the launch of grant support for citizens returning from abroad to help them start or expand their own businesses. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The program is being implemented with the participation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and with financial support from the Ministry of Justice of Sweden. Its main goal is to stimulate entrepreneurial activity among citizens with labor migration experience.
The maximum funding limit for a single business project will be 60 million soums. The selection of recipients will be based on the results of a competition.
When reviewing applications, the organizers plan to consider the viability of the business idea and the availability of a clear plan for its implementation.
One of the key criteria will be the project's ability to create new jobs. In addition, the sustainability and efficiency of the proposed or already operating business will be assessed.
Citizens of Uzbekistan who worked abroad in 2025–2026 and subsequently returned to the country will be eligible to apply. Within the framework of the program, a special emphasis is planned on the participation of women.

At the same time, the Migration Agency announced the launch of a separate grant program for citizens of Uzbekistan working in the UK. Those who were employed in the British Seasonal Workers Scheme in 2024–2026 will be eligible to participate.
Participants of the British program will need to complete a one-day intensive training in Tashkent. To continue participating in the competition, candidates will need to prepare a business plan and provide proof of entrepreneurial experience.
In addition, applicants must confirm their readiness to cooperate with the IOM over the next two years. This is required so that experts can assess the impact of the program on the living conditions of its participants.
The deadline for applications for this program is September 20.
The grant initiatives are being implemented against the backdrop of expanding migration cooperation between Uzbekistan and Sweden. In June, the countries signed a partnership agreement in the field of migration and mobility.
Representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries also signed a declaration on launching a pilot program in this area. The document provides for the support of legal migration and the development of academic exchanges.
