The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan helped collect $570,000 from foreign employers in the first seven months of 2026 for the benefit of citizens.

Migration Agency Recovers $570,000 for Uzbek Citizens

During the first seven months of 2026, the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan helped recover $570,000 in unpaid wages and compensations from foreign employers in favor of the country's citizens. According to the agency, a total of 622 citizens' applications for wages and compensations were considered.
The majority of applications related to wages and compensations came from Russia, which amounted to 375 cases. 129 such applications were registered in Turkey, and 85 in South Korea. The remaining 33 cases were from other countries.
In addition to wage issues, the Migration Agency also assisted in returning identity documents withheld by intermediaries and foreign employers. As a result, 383 citizens of Uzbekistan had their documents returned.
Of these cases, 182 occurred in Russia, 185 in Turkey, 11 in Kazakhstan, and 5 in South Korea. In summary, in the first seven months of 2026, the Migration Agency carried out activities aimed at resolving the problems of Uzbek citizens working abroad related to wages, compensation, and documentation.
