Foreign employers have repaid $570,000 in unpaid wages to migrant workers.

In the first seven months of 2026, the Agency for Foreign Labor Migration assisted Uzbek citizens in recovering $570,000 in unpaid wages from foreign employers.

During this period, agency staff reviewed appeals from citizens working outside the country. Most of the issues identified concerned unpaid wages and compensation, as well as issues related to documents and labor relations.

In total, $570,000 in unpaid wages was recovered from foreign employers for 622 citizens.

The largest number of such cases – 375 – was registered in Russia. The agency helped resolve 129 similar situations in Turkey, 85 in Korea, and another 33 cases occurred in other countries.

Special attention was paid to document management. Over the course of seven months, 383 citizens were able to recover their identity documents, which had been withheld by intermediaries or foreign employers.

The majority of these cases occurred in Turkey and Russia—185 and 182, respectively. Eleven cases were recorded in Kazakhstan, and another five in Korea.

As a reminder, starting September 1, 2026, Uzbek citizens over 18 who arrive in Moscow or the Moscow region without a visa for stays exceeding 90 days for purposes other than employment will be required to register in the Amina app. This requirement will apply, in particular, to students and adult family members of migrant workers.
