Uzbekistani banker Kakhramonzhon Olimov has been placed on the international wanted list
Uzbekistani financier and Anorbank shareholder Kakhramonzhon Olimov has been placed on the international wanted list. His "Red Notice" card has been posted on the Interpol website.
An "Interpol Red Notice" is an international request to locate and provisionally arrest an individual. A state appeals to other countries with a request to find and temporarily detain a person in order to subsequently resolve the issue of their extradition.
According to the published card, Kakhramonzhon Olimov was born on May 7, 1977, in the Andijan region, is a citizen of Uzbekistan, and speaks Uzbek, Russian, and English. In addition, he graduated from the Andijan Institute of Engineering and Economics with a degree in Finance and Credit in 1999, and later received an MBA from the Graduate School of Business under the Academy of State Administration.
At the same time, the fragment of the notice presented by the user does not specify the article of accusation, the summary of the case, or the state at whose request the notice was published.
Earlier, on September 18, The Insider, citing a source close to Olimov's circle, reported that the financier had allegedly been detained in absentia in Uzbekistan and placed on the international wanted list in connection with a kidnapping case.
According to the publication's source, the case may be related to a long-standing financial conflict between Olimov and his former employer Batyr Rakhimov (founder of Kapitalbank, where Olimov previously worked and owned a stake of over 36%). The publication claims that Olimov is accused of organizing the kidnapping of Rakhimov in order to force him to drop his financial claims. This information has not yet been officially confirmed by the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan.
Later, Anorbank stated that the information being circulated concerns the personal affairs of one of the shareholders and is not related to the bank's capital, management, or operational activities.
Commenting on the reports on the X platform, the Central Bank stated that Anorbank continues to operate as usual: "Operations on deposits, loans, payments, and other services continue uninterrupted. The situation related to an individual shareholder does not directly determine the daily operational activities and financial stability of the bank. The bank fulfills its obligations to customers and ensures the continuity of its activities."
According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, Kakhramonzhon Olimov is a member of the supervisory board of Anorbank and owns 49.4% of the bank's shares. Another 50% belongs to the Dutch company Bekamin B.V., and 0.6% to the insurance company Kapital Sug’urta.
In 2025, the entrepreneur also owned a stake in the company Milliy To`lov Tizimlari (Hamyon service).
Currently, he holds a 97.65% stake in Dynamic Energy (electricity generation by thermal power plants) and a 4% stake in the microfinance organization Clever Mikromoliya Tashkiloti. In 2023, it was reported that he was also a co-founder of the company bi1 (a chain of French supermarkets) in Uzbekistan.
In July 2025, Le Monde reported that Kakhramonzhon Olimov had been kidnapped in France and, according to him, beaten while money was demanded. After his release, he contacted the police, who launched an investigation. In November, The Insider and L’Express questioned certain circumstances of his version, pointing out a number of inconsistencies.
