Uzbekistan will attract more family tourists from India. Flights from Hyderabad to Tashkent will be launched.

Uzbekistan intends to significantly increase the influx of Indian tourists by focusing on attracting family groups. As part of this strategy, direct flights will be launched from Hyderabad to Tashkent.

In an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, emphasized that India has enormous potential for increasing tourism. "Our main focus will be on family tourism, families traveling with children," he explained.

To promote Uzbekistan as a safe tourist destination, negotiations are underway with prominent Indian bloggers and influencers.

The Tourism Committee is also actively collaborating with major Indian tour operators. An awards ceremony for tourism industry representatives will be held in Tashkent in October, and a familiarization tour of Uzbekistan's historical cities will be organized for tour operators. "We will also hold B2B meetings with our local tour operators," Akkulov added.

On September 7, the Tourism Committee, together with Centrum Air, will hold a roadshow in Hyderabad, India.

"Starting September 28, a new Hyderabad-Tashkent flight will be launched, operating twice a week," said Abdulaziz Akkulov.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee, analyzed by Gazeta, the number of inbound tourist trips from Indian citizens to Uzbekistan is showing steady growth. In 2023, this figure was 45,500, in 2024 – 70,600, and in 2025, it reached 80,900. Thus, from 2022 to 2025, the number of Indian tourists increased almost 1.8-fold.

By the end of 2025, India ranked ninth in terms of the number of tourist trips to Uzbekistan. The leading positions were occupied by Kyrgyzstan (3.3 million trips), Tajikistan (2.7 million), and Kazakhstan (2.7 million).
