Uzbekistan attracts more family tourists from India. Flights from Hyderabad to Tashkent to be launched

Uzbekistan plans to increase the flow of tourists from India, focusing on family tourism. Indian bloggers and tour operators will be involved to promote the country. It is also planned to launch a twice-weekly Hyderabad-Tashkent flight from September 28.

Uzbekistan aims to increase the number of tourists from India, with priority given to family trips with children. This was announced by Abdulaziz Akkulov, chairman of the Tourism Committee, in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

Akkulov noted that “India has great potential for us in increasing the flow of tourists. But our main target in this regard will be family tourism — those traveling with children and their families.”

The head of the Committee said that negotiations are currently underway with well-known Indian bloggers and influencers. “They will be engaged in promoting Uzbekistan as a safe destination,” said Abdulaziz Akkulov.

In addition, the Tourism Committee is cooperating with major Indian tour operators. In October, it is planned to organize an awards ceremony for representatives of the tourism industry in Tashkent and a familiarization tour for tour operators through the historical cities of Uzbekistan.

“We will also organize an infotour around our historical cities for these tour operators. B2B meetings will also be held with our local tour operators,” the committee chairman said.

On September 7, the Tourism Committee, together with Centrum Air, plans to hold a roadshow in Hyderabad, India.

“A new Hyderabad-Tashkent flight will be launched twice a week starting from September 28,” Abdulaziz Akkulov said.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the number of tourist visits by Indian citizens to Uzbekistan has increased significantly in recent years. In 2023, this figure amounted to 45.5 thousand, in 2024 - 70.6 thousand, and in 2025 - 80.9 thousand. Thus, between 2022 and 2025, this figure increased by almost 1.8 times.

According to the results of 2025, India ranked ninth among countries in terms of the number of trips made by citizens of India to Uzbekistan. The first three places were occupied by Kyrgyzstan (3.3 million visits), Tajikistan (2.7 million) and Kazakhstan (2.7 million).
