Following her participation in the UN General Assembly, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, attended the 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which commenced in Abu Dhabi.
This prestigious forum, attended by nearly 5,000 representatives from various countries around the world, discussed pressing issues of global significance.
In particular, measures requiring common solutions were considered, including the fight against transnational crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, corruption, and environmental offenses, as well as child protection and strengthening the rule of law.
Within the framework of the congress, Saida Mirziyoyeva met with Monica Juma, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. During the conversation, it was noted with satisfaction that Uzbekistan actively cooperates with this body and is successfully implementing a number of important joint projects.
This congress held historical significance for Uzbekistan. All participating states unanimously supported our country's initiative to host the next congress in Uzbekistan, and this decision was reflected in the final declaration.
Saida Mirziyoyeva assessed this success as an expression of high international trust in Uzbekistan's policy of openness, its constant readiness for dialogue, and its potential to unite forces for global goals.
A five-year preparation period lies ahead. In 2031, Uzbekistan will welcome delegates from all over the world.
