Uzbekistan to develop anti-dumping policy

By presidential decree, it was determined that draft laws and government decisions on the application of anti-dumping measures will be developed by the end of November. At the end of 2023, there were plans to introduce anti-dumping duties on the import of household appliances, but this did not materialize.

Uzbekistan to develop anti-dumping policy

Drafts of a law and a Cabinet of Ministers resolution on additional measures regarding the application of anti-dumping measures will be prepared in Uzbekistan.

The draft envisages the application of anti-dumping measures against low-quality and dumped import products, as well as the revision of customs duty rates.

The draft law and resolution must be ready by November 2026.

This task is stipulated in the presidential decree on the implementation of tasks set during the dialogue with entrepreneurs.

Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev and others have been designated as responsible for the execution of the task.

– refers to trade measures applied by the government to protect local producers if they are suffering damage as a result of foreign goods being sold at artificially low prices.

In December 2023, a protocol of the government commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev stipulated the development of proposals to introduce anti-dumping duties of approximately 10 percent on the import of household appliances.

In January 2024, the "Uzeltexsanoat" association issued a statement indicating that, based on the findings of the study, there were no plans to introduce an anti-dumping duty.
