Uzbekistan presented its national pavilion at COP17 in Ulaanbaatar.
The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17) has opened in Ulaanbaatar. The conference is being held from August 17 to 28 under the theme "Restoring Land. Restoring Hope." Uzbekistan is participating in COP17 with a National Pavilion, presenting environmental reforms and the country's practical measures to combat desertification and land degradation, restore land, and expand forests.
Uzbekistan presented its National Pavilion at the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17), which kicked off in Ulaanbaatar. The event, held from August 17 to 28, focuses on the theme "Restoring Land. Restoring Hope."
At its National Pavilion, Uzbekistan is showcasing its environmental reforms and practical steps aimed at combating desertification and land degradation. Among the initiatives presented are land restoration, increasing forest and green areas, mitigating the effects of droughts and sand and dust storms, and restoring ecosystems in the Aral Sea region.
On the first day of the conference, Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral visited the Uzbekistan pavilion. He learned about the initiatives and practical solutions being implemented by the country in the areas of land restoration and environmental protection.
The Prime Minister of Mongolia was briefed on the work being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Particular attention was paid to the creation of forests in the Aral Sea region and measures to combat land degradation and the impacts of climate change.
Nyam-Osoryn Uchral praised Uzbekistan's participation in COP17, calling the National Pavilion an effective platform for exchanging experiences, promoting environmental initiatives, and expanding international cooperation.
He also noted Uzbekistan's active participation among the Central Asian countries presenting a national pavilion, emphasizing the importance of this format for finding joint solutions to environmental problems.
Uzbekistan's participation in COP17 continues. The conference program includes bilateral meetings, thematic events, and presentations on land restoration, combating desertification, and enhancing ecosystem resilience.
