Uzbekistan owes the IMF more than 100 million dollars

The volume of Uzbekistan's outstanding loans to the International Monetary Fund stands at 73.64 million SDR, or about 101.2 million dollars. By this indicator, the republic ranks second among the countries of Central Asia.

First place is held by Tajikistan, whose debt equals 111.36 million SDR, or approximately 153 million dollars. Kyrgyzstan owes the fund 54.02 million SDR — about 74.2 million dollars. Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are not listed in the current register of countries with outstanding IMF loans.

Uzbekistan's current debt is linked to emergency financing received during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was previously reported that at the end of the second quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan's state debt reached 48.3 billion dollars, increasing by 1.3 billion dollars over three months.
