**Uzbekistan Journalists' Union Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Leading Turkish Media Structures**

Within the framework of the international media forum "From the Cultural Direction to the Digital Future: Cultures, Media and Artificial Intelligence" held in Balikesir, Turkey, fruitful negotiations were held between the Uzbekistan Journalists' Union and representatives of Turkish media structures.

The meetings discussed the current state of journalism in the two countries, opportunities and challenges emerging in the modern media environment, expanding professional ties between journalists, exchanging experience, and implementing joint media projects.

An important result of the negotiations was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Uzbek and Turkish media structures. These documents, signed by the Chairman of the Board of the Journalists' Union of Uzbekistan Shuhrat Oripov, the Chairman of the Federation of Journalists of Turkey Yilmaz Karaca and the Chairman of the Board of the Internet Media Union of Turkey Suleyman Basa, are an important step towards the development of cooperation between journalists and media organizations of the two countries on a systematic and practical basis.

Cooperation with the Federation of Journalists of Turkey covers areas such as the exchange of journalist delegations, studying the experience of developing local press, organizing joint seminars on digital journalism, artificial intelligence and media literacy, improving the skills of journalists, and holding international media forums. Also, expanding the professional network between journalists of Uzbekistan and Turkey is identified as one of the important areas of cooperation.

Established in 1996, the Federation of Journalists of Turkey works to protect the professional interests of journalists, express the common position of the journalistic community on issues of press and freedom of expression, support local and regional press, and strengthen professional cooperation. The Federation unites journalist associations in 81 provinces of Turkey.

The memorandum of understanding signed with the Turkish Internet Media Union (TIMBIR) further enriches the digital media aspect of this process. This organization is an international professional media organization that unites internet journalism, digital media and online information platforms, and its network covers cooperation relations in 81 provinces of Turkey and 25 countries of the world. The organization’s network includes more than 800 media organizations and more than 1,000 information platforms.

Within the framework of cooperation with TIMBIR, the Uzbekistan Journalists’ Union plans to implement joint projects on digital journalism, internet media, improving the skills of journalists, media literacy, combating disinformation, and supporting young journalists. Special attention will also be paid to improving the professional knowledge and skills of media workers through educational programs, seminars and trainings, and exchanging experience on issues of information reliability and journalistic ethics in the digital environment.

The cooperation agreements in Balikesir can be assessed as an important initiative that forms a new space for dialogue between journalists of the two countries, a significant step towards new experiences and new joint projects. This cooperation is significant in that it is aimed at further strengthening friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey in the information space.
