Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has established new document storage periods.

Uzbekistan has introduced new regulations regarding the retention periods for confidential documents and personnel-related materials. These changes directly impact organizations' archival activities and the procedures for recording employee information.

Restricted access documents must now be retained for 30 years. The retention periods for personnel documents reflecting employee work activities depend on the date of completion of the records management process.

Archival materials created before January 1, 2019, will be stored in departmental archives for 75 years. For personnel documentation created after this date, the retention period has been reduced to 50 years.

As a reminder, original personal documents that ended up in state archives after the liquidation of organizations can now be obtained through State Service Centers or online. This service is also available to close relatives of the deceased document owner.
