Uzbekistan entered the top five best countries for solo travelers
Uzbekistan has been ranked among the world's top five tourist destinations for solo travel in 2026. The ranking took into account the country's historical heritage, nature, tourist infrastructure, visa conditions, and the affordability of travel expenses.

Uzbekistan has been included in the top five destinations for independent travelers in the Solo Travel Index 2026 ranking by the international tourism platform Much Better Adventures. This was reported by the "Dunyo" information agency, citing the Kyiv Diplomatic magazine.
In compiling the ranking, experts evaluated 26 countries based on a number of criteria. These included tour booking trends, tourist reviews, safety levels, visa procedures, and dining costs.
As a result, Uzbekistan took its place alongside popular tourist countries such as Italy, Japan, and Portugal.
The authors of the ranking also noted that the interest of American tourists in Uzbekistan increased after the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for US citizens.
The country's rich historical and cultural heritage, diverse nature, and developing tourism infrastructure were highlighted as its main tourist advantages.
In particular, solo travelers were recommended to hike along routes in the Nuratau Mountains, spend the night in traditional yurts, and travel through the Kyzylkum Desert to Lake Aydarkul.
Additionally, the architectural and cultural heritage of Samarkand, Bukhara, and other ancient cities associated with the history of the Great Silk Road received special recognition.
Uzbekistan also stands out for the relative affordability of travel expenses. The country was previously included in the list of the cheapest tourist destinations according to Condé Nast Traveler.
