On October 19, in Samarkand, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic ties and preparations for the third Forum of Regions.
As reported by the president's press service, an increase in trade turnover and freight transportation volumes between the two countries was noted. In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of the "Shavat — Dashoguz" border trade zone.
The meeting participants paid special attention to the preparation of the Days of Uzbek Culture and Cinema in the cities of Turkmenistan. They also exchanged views on issues of regional cooperation.
