Uzbekistan and Turkey intend to strengthen the exchange of experience in the field of mediation and alternative dispute resolution
Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Akbar Tashkulov held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Justice of Turkey Akın Gürlek. The talks took place in Istanbul within the framework of the third meeting of the Council of Ministers of Justice of the Organization of Turkic States.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the judicial and legal sphere. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Cooperation Program for 2026–2027, the development of mediation and alternative dispute resolution methods, the institution of the bar and the provision of free state-funded legal aid, as well as raising legal awareness among the population.
The participants reviewed the issues of digitalization in the field of mediation, training of professional mediators, and the exchange of experience in applying conciliation procedures at the pre-trial and trial stages.
In addition, the parties discussed expanding direct ties between the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Legal Personnel under the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and the Justice Academy of Turkey, including the organization of mutual study visits, internships, and joint seminars.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen practical cooperation and promote joint initiatives.
