On October 14, 2026, three-day national in-depth consultations dedicated to the protection of vulnerable targets and critical infrastructure against terrorist threats commenced at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event is held as part of the implementation of the Roadmap for Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) for 2026–2027. The organizers are UNOCT in partnership with the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Security Service, and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Representatives of law enforcement agencies, relevant ministries and departments, as well as specialists from strategic enterprises, are taking part in the consultations. Experts from UNOCT and the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate serve as lecturers. International experts will present advanced experience in the field of protecting critical facilities.

During the consultations, operational and technical measures for the protection of facilities, the prevention of terrorist attacks, and the readiness of responsible bodies to respond to them will be reviewed.

Following the consultations, it is planned to develop practical recommendations for improving existing mechanisms taking into account national needs.
