Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea are expanding scientific and practical cooperation in the field of public procurement and industrial cooperation
Within the framework of the visit of experts from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms to the Republic of Korea, opportunities for the digitalization of public procurement, the development of industrial and technological cooperation, the attraction of Korean technologies and companies to Uzbekistan, and the expansion of scientific and educational cooperation were discussed.

Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea are further expanding scientific and practical cooperation in the field of public procurement and industrial cooperation
On September 27–30, 2026, a delegation of Uzbekistan visited the Republic of Korea. The main purpose of the visit was to study the advanced experience of the Republic of Korea in the development of public procurement, industrial cooperation, and high-tech manufacturing, as well as to consider opportunities for attracting Korean technologies, companies, and scientific potential to Uzbekistan.
From the Uzbek side, experts from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms and the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the meetings.
From the Korean side, representatives of the Public Procurement Service of the Republic of Korea (PPS), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), leading Korean companies, research institutes, and educational institutions took part in the events.
During the meetings, the Korean side was briefed on the economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, industrial development, measures taken to improve the public procurement system, and the expansion of opportunities for foreign investors. Special attention was paid to the agreements reached at the highest level within the framework of the Uzbek-Korean dialogue and the possibilities of their implementation by attracting Korean technologies, expert potential, and companies to joint projects in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting with PPS in Daejeon, the operation of the KONEPS electronic public procurement system of the Republic of Korea was studied. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in implementing certain tools of the KONEPS electronic system in Uzbekistan. Experiences were exchanged on further developing mechanisms for adapting Korean solutions to the national public procurement system.
At the meeting with representatives of the KOICA agency, opportunities for attracting technical assistance in the field of digitalization of public procurement, cooperating with Korean experts, and organizing training programs for specialists were considered.
At the KOTRA agency, issues of expanding industrial cooperation, attracting Korean companies and investors, as well as developing B2B cooperation and technological partnership in priority areas were discussed.
In the field of industrial and technological cooperation, specific areas of cooperation were reviewed with a number of leading Korean companies.
In particular, during the visit to Eunsung Telecom, production processes and technological capabilities were studied. The prospects of organizing the production of PCBs (printed circuit boards) based on SMT (surface-mount technology) in Uzbekistan were discussed.
With the management of Roboblock System, opportunities for introducing drone and robotics technologies used in education and industry in Uzbekistan, training relevant specialists, and subsequently localizing production were considered.
With representatives of BL Science, opportunities for cooperation in the field of modern medical diagnostic solutions, including test systems manufactured by the company, were discussed.
In the scientific and educational field, meetings were held with representatives of the Korea Elevator University (KEU), the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
During the negotiations, opportunities for further development of scientific, educational, and technological cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, including exchange of experience, training, and advanced training of specialists, were discussed.
Representatives of Korean business expressed interest in expanding their activities in various sectors in Uzbekistan and implementing joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meetings, the parties reached preliminary agreements on continuing cooperation in the discussed areas.
