**Uzbekistan, South Korea review progress on agreements with Korean companies**

Uzbekistan and South Korea have reviewed ongoing cooperation with Korean companies operating in Uzbekistan and discussed how to implement agreements reached during a high-level visit to South Korea in September 2026.

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade took part in a regular meeting of the Korea Business Council on September 24. The meeting was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan. It brought together members of the diplomatic corps, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Korean companies doing business in Uzbekistan or considering entering the market.

Companies represented at the meeting included YK Law Firm, BNK Capital, East Telecom, Kyungdong Navien, Shinhan Bank, BoMI E&C, LG Electronics, Korea Gas Corporation, Lotte Chemical, Daejong and Dasan DMC. The talks centered on the results of the high-level visit to South Korea earlier in September and the implementation of the agreements reached there. Participants stressed the importance of moving forward with the agreements within the established implementation framework.

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade shared updates on ongoing work with Korean companies carrying out projects in the country. The ministry also outlined the mechanisms used to support project implementation and to address inquiries raised by companies in a targeted way.

The meeting served as a platform for government representatives, Korean businesses and KOTRA to exchange views on existing cooperation and coordinate work on areas that require further engagement.

Participants also discussed practical issues related to projects being implemented by Korean companies in Uzbekistan and the mechanisms for handling business inquiries. After the meeting, decisions were adopted to coordinate further joint work between the Uzbek side and Korean businesses and to support the implementation of existing agreements.
