Uzbekistan and South Korea may establish an industrial-technological alliance
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo attended the opening ceremony of the joint business forum. This was reported by the president's press service.
The event was attended by over 300 representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries, including heads of leading financial institutions, large industrial enterprises, and trading companies.
In particular, major Korean companies such as Lotte Chemical, Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung C&T, CJ Group, Shinhan Financial Group, Hyundai Rotem, Kind, Bomi, Kia Corporation, Sampyo Group, and Hansae Mobility participated.
In his speech, the head of state emphasized that Korea is a time-tested friend and special strategic partner of Uzbekistan, and that trade, economic, and investment cooperation is one of the priority areas of Uzbekistan-Korea multifaceted relations.
It was particularly noted that leading Korean companies are operating effectively in Uzbekistan and making a significant contribution to the development of the country's economy.
Today, Uzbekistan is entering a new stage of industrial and technological development. Therefore, wide opportunities are opening up to increase the volume of mutual trade, expand investment cooperation, and implement new joint projects.
The leader of the country proposed to create new points of economic growth by combining Uzbekistan's resource potential, Korea's advanced technologies, and the investment capabilities of the companies of the two countries.
The President outlined the main directions for the future development of economic partnership.
In particular, directions for developing cooperation in industrial cooperation, energy and the "green economy", transport and modern infrastructure, digitalization, and artificial intelligence were pointed out.
Attention was also paid to semiconductors and microelectronics, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, joint scientific research, the introduction of advanced technologies, and personnel training.
Korean companies were invited to projects in copper processing, production of electrical equipment, localization of components for cars and electric vehicles, robotics, and biotechnology.
At the same time, cooperation was proposed in hydropower, energy storage systems, modernization of energy networks, and the development of transport and urban infrastructure.
The establishment of the Uzbekistan-Korea Industrial-Technological Alliance was proposed as a practical mechanism for deepening industrial-technological cooperation.
The President expressed readiness to create favorable conditions for the activities of Korean business in the country in the future and to provide practical assistance in the implementation of joint projects.
