On August 24, the Uzbek-Korean Business Forum, complemented by B2B meetings, brought together business representatives from both countries. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan jointly with the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA).

The forum was attended by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Ilzat Kasimov, KOIMA Chairman Yoon Young-mi, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Won Do-yeon, and approximately 100 representatives of companies from Uzbekistan and South Korea.

According to data presented by event participants, mutual trade between Uzbekistan and South Korea will reach almost $2 billion in 2025. Total Korean investment in the Uzbek economy has exceeded $8 billion, with over 600 enterprises with Korean capital successfully operating in the country.

The key issues discussed at the meetings were further deepening trade and economic cooperation and increasing Uzbek exports to the South Korean market.

Representatives of the two countries also discussed ways to develop new business contacts and develop joint initiatives. Agriculture, industry, energy, logistics, and telecommunications were identified as the most promising areas.

The B2B meetings provided the companies with the opportunity to directly discuss the potential for further collaboration in specific areas.
