Uzbekistan and the Philippines discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in tourism, including enhancing tourism exchanges and launching new joint projects. The meeting took place on August 14 with the participation of S. Bobokalonov, Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, Roberto G. Manalo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Uzbekistan, and Behbat Sodnom, Honorary Consul of the Philippines.

During the talks, the parties discussed the further development of tourism ties between the two countries and increasing mutual tourist flow.

Attendees were presented with information about Uzbekistan's historical and cultural heritage, as well as the country's potential for pilgrimage, gastronomic, ecotourism, and other types of tourism. The conditions created in Uzbekistan for foreign tourists were also discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on the development of practical cooperation between representatives of the tourism sectors of both countries. Business meetings, presentations, information tours, and other events aimed at promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the Philippines were mentioned as potential tools for cooperation.

Following the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation in tourism and the promotion of joint initiatives.
